The Politics of Experience, 1967
- Engine Designed by Glenn Curtiss for the Aerial Experiment Association's "Silver Dart" Airplane, 1908-1909 - In 1907, Alexander Graham Bell recruited a team of young aviation enthusiasts for his elite Aerial Experiment Association (AEA). The group produced a string of airplanes that ultimately achieved manned flight and contributed key developments to the fledgling field of aviation. AEA "motor expert" Glenn Curtiss designed this water-cooled engine to prevent overheating and allow for longer flights.

- 1911 Baker Electrics Advertisement, "The Product of 14 Years' Experience" - This 1911 advertisement praised the Baker Motor Vehicle Company's fourteen years of "invention and achievement" as an electric car manufacturer. Similar ads touted the vehicle's other advantages. Baker electrics were simple to use, reliable, safe, clean, and elegantly styled -- qualities implied by the ad's artwork.

- Fertilizer Experiments with Cotton, Bulletin No. 3, 1899 - George Washington Carver directed the Agricultural Experiment Station at Tuskegee Institute in Alabama. Soil was the foundation of his work, and he urged farm families to incorporate biomass as well as natural and chemical fertilizers to replace nutrients leached out of soils by extensive cotton cultivation.

The Schwartz Collection spans Lillian's childhood into her late career, documenting an expansive mindset, mastery over traditional and experimental mediums alike--and above all--an ability to create inspirational connections between science, art, and technology.
