From 1882 to 1888, Jones sold products like coffee, sugar, fabric, and shoes. He also boasted the first telephone in town. General stores were organized shopping spaces. From 1882 to 1888, storekeeper J.R. Jones sold products like coffee, sugar, fabric, and shoes here. The grocery "department" on the left side of the store included a selection of cheeses in the cheese "safe." The safe kept out flies and vermin.
