- Air, Land and Sea Paper Dolls, 1943 - The Saalfield Publishing Company was founded in 1900, at first producing dictionaries and Bibles. The first Saalfield paper dolls were produced in 1918. Military toys and play sets became particularly popular during and just after World War II, when patriotism was especially strong, as evidenced by this set from 1943.

In addition to the Ford Tri-Motor on the cover, "All Kinds of Airplanes to Color" featured a Lockheed Sirius, a Boeing 80, and a Zeppelin passenger airship. Seven years before the <em>Hindenburg</em> disaster, Zeppelin dirigibles seemed to have a promising future.
