- Knox Collapsible Cup, 1900-1910 - This "telescoping" or "collapsible" cup was a convenient item for cyclists, motorists, and canoeists. When not in use, it could be collapsed and carried in a pocket. This ingenious cup was produced with different lids, including one depicting bicyclists and labeled "Cyclist's Cup." The "Knox" name on the lid of this cup might refer to the Knox Automobile Company.

- Columbian Exposition Medal Awarded to Enoch Prouty, 1893 - The 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago commemorated the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus' landing in the Americas. Large exhibition halls were built to display the goods and products of inventors, artists and manufacturers from throughout the world. Officials judged these works against a list of criteria and awarded certificates and bronze medallions. Prouty and Company received this medallion for its printing presses.

As living machines, the animals required food, water, housing, and cleaning. In addition, horses and horse-drawn vehicles needed regular maintenance. Horseshoes and parts for vehicles were manufactured in blacksmith shops like the one pictured here.
