Almost immediately, the company launched commercial "Air Jordans" and an aggressive advertising campaign. The popularity of Air Jordans was unprecedented -- first-year sales totaled 130 million dollars! This pair was purchased as a Christmas present for a young Iowan boy in 1985.

He started racing in NASCAR's minor league Busch Series in 2004 and made his debut in its top-level Cup Series in 2005. Bowyer spent the next several seasons racing full time at both levels. He won the Nationwide (formerly Busch) Series championship in 2008.
