- Birthday card from Vista Maria School to Henry Ford, 1943-1946 - Friends and well-wishers throughout the country sent birthday greetings to the Henry Ford each July 30th. Many sent telegrams, some mailed cards and still others created special gifts or keepsakes for the famous automaker.

Friends and well-wishers throughout the country sent birthday greetings to the Henry Ford each July 30th. Many sent telegrams, some mailed cards and still others created special gifts or keepsakes for the famous automaker.
- Trade Card for the Toledo Business College, Matthew H. Davis, 1881-1894 - In the last third of the nineteenth century, an unprecedented variety of consumer goods and services flooded the American market. Advertisers bombarded potential customers with trade cards. Americans enjoyed and saved the often illustrated little advertisements found in product packages or distributed by local merchants. Many survive as historical records of commercialism in the United States.

Trade Card for the Toledo Business College, Matthew H. Davis, 1881-1894
In the last third of the nineteenth century, an unprecedented variety of consumer goods and services flooded the American market. Advertisers bombarded potential customers with trade cards. Americans enjoyed and saved the often illustrated little advertisements found in product packages or distributed by local merchants. Many survive as historical records of commercialism in the United States.
- "Declaration of Independence," Portrait of George Washington, 1865 - In Davenport, Iowa, immediately after the Civil War, William Pratt, a penmanship teacher, and Augustus Hageboeck, a local printer, teamed up to create a chirographic portrait of George Washington. A chirographic portrait renders an image of an individual through handwritten words. Pratt depicted George Washington's likeness -- based on the well-known painting by Gilbert Stuart -- using the words of the Declaration of Independence.
