- McDonald's Lego DUPLO Happy Meal Building Set, 1983 - Duplos -- a larger version of the Lego brick -- were perfect for the small hands of a toddler. Introduced in 1969, Duplos stuck together well, but could be easily pulled apart. Toddlers could now create and build just like their older siblings and friends. This set was part of Legos' first McDonald's Happy Meal promotion in 1983.

- Kellogg's Krumbles Around-the-World Cut-Out Dolls, Denmark, 1946-1949 - The breakfast food manufacturer Kellogg's created attractive advertising premiums to entice customers to buy its products. In the late 1940s, as the United States became a global leader, the company printed cut-out paper dolls of children from around the world on the backs of Kellogg's Krumbles cereal boxes. Kellogg's Krumbles, a tasty toasted whole wheat cereal, was one of the company's best-selling products.
