- "Commuter Vehicles Inc. Specifications & Answers to Questions," 1982 - This brochure from 1982 provided specifications and answers to questions about the electric Comuta-Car. Sharp increases in gasoline prices in the 1970s persuaded some buyers to purchase small vehicles from Commuter Vehicles, Inc. But every time the price of fuel spiked, it always fell again, and demand for electrics-- designed for limited use in cities--always fell along with it.

- Scale Model of the Nucleon, a 1958 Ford Motor Company Styling Conception for an Atomic-Powered Car - This 3/8-scale model was built to explore how the future of energy might affect the future of automotive design. The Ford Nucleon would have been powered by a rear-mounted, self-contained nuclear reactor. This atomic-automobile idea assumed, of course, that issues with nuclear safety and the size and weight of nuclear reactors would eventually be resolved. The Nucleon was never produced.

- An Experimental ICE/Battery-Electric Hybrid with Low Emissions and Low Fuel Consumption Capability, February 23, 1976 - In 1974, electrical engineer Victor Wouk entered a gasoline-electric hybrid in an Environmental Protection Agency competition to encourage development of low-polluting cars. It was the only vehicle to meet the emissions requirements. This 1976 paper on gasoline-electric hybrids is one of more than 100 Wouk wrote between 1974 and 2000.

- Zenith Royal 555 Sun Charger Transistor Radio, 1965 - This radio was made portable thanks to the miniaturizing effect of transistors. The forward-thinking design of the Sun Charger radio also used rechargeable NiCad batteries, which drew their power from solar energy filtered through its "miracle sunray handle." Zenith was a key client of Mel Boldt and Associates, designers of this device.
