Doll Desk and Chair, 1915-1921
- Lincoln Continental Presidential Limousine Customization, Testing Adjustable Hydraulic Seat, 1961 - The Hess & Eisenhardt Company of Cincinnati, Ohio, transformed a stock 1961 Lincoln Continental convertible into the presidential limousine. Among the special modifications was a hydraulic lift installed on the rear seat. At the touch of a button, the president could raise the seat 10-1/2 inches to make himself and his passengers more visible to crowds watching the limousine pass.

- Trade Card for Furniture and Carpet Store, Rudden's Instalment House, 1870-1900 - In the last third of the nineteenth century, an unprecedented variety of consumer goods and services flooded the American market. Advertisers, armed with new methods of color printing, bombarded potential customers with trade cards. Americans enjoyed and often saved the vibrant little advertisements found in product packages or distributed by local merchants. Many survive as historical records of commercialism in the United States.

In the last third of the nineteenth century, an unprecedented variety of consumer goods and services flooded the American market. Advertisers, armed with new methods of color printing, bombarded potential customers with trade cards. Americans enjoyed and often saved the vibrant little advertisements found in product packages or distributed by local merchants. Many survive as historical records of commercialism in the United States.

- Home for Blind, Chair Caning, 1890-1915 - In 1890, Jenny Young Chandler, 25 years old and recently widowed, began working for the <em>New York Herald</em>. As a photojournalist and feature writer, Chandler captured life in Brooklyn, New York, and vicinity. By 1922, the time of her death, she had produced over 800 glass plate negatives. Her sensitive, insightful photographs depict people from all walks of life and the world in which they lived.

- Action Office Project Drawing by Robert Propst, April 1, 1964 - Action Office, conceptualized by Robert Propst with final design by George Nelson, was rooted in Propst's research into office function and worker behavior. The system was not a commercial success: manufacturing costs were high, and it was, in Propst's words, "too showy and bright for serious consideration as a middle management tool." Propst went on to design the hugely successful Action Office 2 cubicle-based system.
