- Toolbox, Used by George Hook, 1946-1952 - Tether cars, gas-powered model race cars, were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were raced individually while tethered to a central pivot, or against each other on a scaled-down board track. Racers needed tools and spare parts with them at competitions. This box, used by George Hook, kept everything organized -- and included a place for the car as well.

- Life Cast of Abraham Lincoln's Left Hand by Leonard Wells Volk - In May 1860, sculptor Leonard Volk made plaster casts of the hands of the Republican presidential nominee, Abraham Lincoln. Volk was thinking of using these castings along with his recently completed bust of Lincoln to create a full-length statue. This casting -- made from the original but at a later date -- depicts the left hand of the soon-to-be president.

Volk was thinking of using these castings along with his recently completed bust of Lincoln to create a full-length statue. This casting -- made from the original but at a later date -- depicts the left hand of the soon-to-be president.
- Handstamp for First Commercial Contract Air Mail, February 15, 1926 - When regularly scheduled air mail service began in 1918, the United States Post Office operated the various routes itself. These flights were intended to prove the safety and reliability of air service, and ultimately to encourage private contractors to take over the operations. Henry Ford was an early contract bidder and, in January 1926, he was awarded the Detroit-Chicago route.

Over 6000 of these rugged hand presses were sold between 1835-1902; many specialist printers continue to use them today. This press was donated by George Booth, <em>Detroit News</em> publisher and founder of the Cranbrook Educational Community.

Over 6000 of these rugged hand presses were sold between 1835-1902; many specialist printers continue to use them today. This press was donated by George Booth, Detroit News publisher and founder of the Cranbrook Educational Community.
