- Ford Freighter "John Dykstra" on Water, circa 1970 - The Ford Motor Company added the <em>Joseph S. Wood</em> to its fleet in 1966. Ford refitted the ship and renamed it the <em>John Dykstra</em> in honor of a past president of Ford. The ship hauled raw material such as coal, iron ore, and limestone to Ford's River Rouge factory near Detroit, Michigan. The ship was sold in 1987.
