In the 1930s and 1940s, Henry Ford summered at his Richmond Hill, Georgia, home. Ford brought his Old Time Orchestra there about 1940 to provide music for his old-fashioned dances. He also had Benjamin Lovett, accompanied by the orchestra, teach these traditional American dance steps to the children in the schools he built there.

The musicians are William Hallup (cimbalom), Clayton Perry (violin), Gino Caporali (string bass), Don Van DeVen (accordion), and Ed Baxter (dulcimer). Benjamin Lovett, at the microphone, called the dance steps. Gino Caporali joined the band in the late 1930s, replacing Maurice Castel.

Ford met Bisbee in 1923 while on a summer camping trip in northern Michigan. Bisbee at Ford's request, recorded for Edison Records a few months later. Bisbee (shown here with Ford's dance orchestra) won a statewide fiddling contest held in Detroit in January 1926.
