Designed and built in consultation with leading medical experts, Henry Ford Hospital employed salaried doctors and charged low, fixed fees to patients. - Victor Electric Company X-Ray Milliammeter, circa 1900 - In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, American companies began producing electric-powered motors and related equipment for use in factories, businesses, medical offices, and the home. Victor Electric Company, founded in 1893, specialized in electrical medical equipment, especially that related to X-ray machines. Victor merged with General Electric in 1920.
