Ford Motor Company launched its Mercury line for 1939. The medium-priced car fit neatly between the basic Ford and the upmarket Lincoln. Mercury introduced its 1942 models in October 1941. They featured bigger front ends characterized by two sets of wide chrome grille bars. The four-door Town Sedan model started at $1,065.
