Sears, Roebuck and Company provided a variety of automobile-related products for motorists. This 1926 catalog contains an ad for jack stands. Some people simply didn't drive their open cars in winter; open cars had no permanent roofs and exposed riders to the elements. Jack stands kept tires from getting flat spots.
