President Barack Obama and Vice President Joseph Biden were reelected to a second term in 2012. Adopting the campaign slogan of "Forward," the incumbent Democratic ticket defeated the Republican ticket of former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney and Representative Paul Ryan.
