Artifact Overview

The fifth annual Pocono 500 took place at Pocono Raceway near Blakeslee, Pennsylvania, on June 29, 1975. Gordon Johncock had the pole position in the Indy car event, having qualified at 183.281 mph, but A.J. Foyt took the checkered flag. Due to rain, the 200-lap race was called after just 170 laps had been completed.
