Ford Military Ambulance, 1933

Ford Motor Company manufactured a series of ambulances for the U.S. Army in 1933. These vehicles were built on Ford's Model BB truck platform. The heavier-duty BB featured a reinforced frame, a heftier transmission, and bigger wheels -- with dual wheels on the ambulances' rear axles. Each ambulance was powered by a 221-cubic-inch Ford V-8 engine.
