1927 Ford Model T Touring Car, The Fifteen-Millionth Ford, Photographed in Henry Ford Museum, 1953

01

Artifact Overview

The fifteen millionth Ford Model T -- the ceremonial "last" Model T built -- joined The Henry Ford's collection soon after the museum opened in 1929. For several years thereafter, Ford Motor Company occasionally borrowed the car for promotional events. The T was repainted sometime between 1939 and 1953, covering its commemorative "Fifteen Millionth Ford" lettering. That lettering was restored in 1990.
