Ford Motor Company published Ford Times from 1908 to 1917 and again from 1943 to 1993. It was key to Ford's public relations efforts. The June 1953 issue featured cover art by Ernest R. Roose, showing William Clay Ford driving the pace car at that year's Indianapolis 500. Roose had previously painted portraits of several Indy 500 winners for Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
