Margaret McAlister began teaching at Henry Ford's schools in Mason and Tecumseh, Michigan, in 1933 and moved to the Greenfield Village school in 1943. She later served in the Edison Institute's School Services division before retiring as manager of Adult Education in 1981. McAlister was noted for her artwork, and her drawings graced numerous pamphlets, catalogs, calendars, and other publications.
