1907 Welch Touring Car

Summary

After experimenting in their Chelsea, Michigan, shop, the Welch brothers went into automobile manufacturing in 1903. Hemispherical combustion chambers and an overhead camshaft set the Welch engine apart as an advanced power plant for its day. But technical sophistication was expensive, and the car was never a big seller. General Motors acquired Welch in 1910 and soon discontinued the brand.
