Charles and Anne Lindbergh used their 1935 Stagecoach trailer as a study and writing space at home. But they also traveled with it, visiting 37 states, the District of Columbia, and the Canadian province of Ontario between 1942 and 1957. Several tools and accessories were found in the trailer after its donation to The Henry Ford.

Henry Ford gave this trailer to his friend Charles Lindbergh in 1942. Charles and his wife Anne used it as a home on the road and as a spare room and a study at home. Anne wrote The Steep Ascent here, and Charles wrote portions of his Pulitzer Prize-winning book The Spirit of St. Louis.

In a Stagecoach travel trailer given to her and her husband, Charles Lindbergh, by Henry Ford, Anne Morrow Lindbergh wrote the novel, The Steep Ascent. The novel follows the journey of Eve, a wife and mother, on a perilous airplane trip with her husband over the Alps.
