Woman Poses with Ford Automobile, August 1946
01
Artifact Overview
Colorful renderings and clay models were valuable tools to mid-20th-century automobile designers. But when it came time to verify how a car's shape and size accommodated real people in the real world, there was no substitute for a full-size mockup. This 1946 photograph shows a woman posing with a wooden mockup of a proposed Ford sedan.
