The Chicago Flexible Shaft Company introduced an electric iron with the Sunbeam name around 1920. The company's growing success in the home appliance and personal care market led it to change its name to the Sunbeam Corporation in 1946. The Shavemaster electric razor appeared in the late 1930s. This model with distinctive styling by Mel Boldt and Associates came out in the late 1960s.
