Twentieth-century motorists who belonged to automobile clubs attached badges or emblems to their vehicles. The badges helped identify members and promoted the organization. This Automobile Club of Michigan badge also contains a reflector--an added safety device. It could help warn oncoming motorist of a stranded vehicle on dark nights.
