Motometers measured a car's radiator coolant temperature and were popular aftermarket accessories in motoring's early years. This motometer, made by the Gidelite Manufacturing Company, bears the name of the Moon Motor Car Company of St. Louis, Missouri. Established in 1905, Moon remained in business until the Great Depression got the better of it in 1930.
