Sesqui-Centennial Souvenir Medal, "How We Grew," 1926

01

Artifact Overview

The Sesquicentennial International Exposition celebrated the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Though more than six million attendees visited Philadelphia in 1926, the fair was not profitable and disappointed organizers. Still, many fairgoers enjoyed their experiences and bought souvenirs. This medal depicts people, places and things related to Independence and the Philadelphia area.
