Slipper Chair, 1750-1770
01
Artifact Overview
A well-to-do woman from the mid-1700s would have placed this finely made slipper chair in her bedchamber where she dressed. The chair's short legs put the seat closer to the floor making it easier for her to put on or remove her shoes or slippers.
