Magnavox High Fidelity Dynamic Speaker, circa 1934
01
Artifact Overview
The basic design of a dynamic speaker driver--a paper cone manipulated by electrical currents and a magnet--remains in use today. Unlike Magnavox's earliest designs, which were essentially phonograph speaker horns connected to speaker drivers, this model shows a refinement of the apparatus. This dynamic speaker could have been used with a public address system in large venues.
