Twentieth-century motorists who belonged to automobile clubs attached badges or emblems to their vehicles. The badges helped identify members and promoted the organization. The American Automobile Association (AAA) issued this "Auto-Glo" badge to reflect oncoming light. It could help warn oncoming motorists of a stranded vehicle on dark nights.
