Artifact Overview

This postcard features the midway of Chicago's White City Amusement Park and the city's unofficial motto "I will." Both the name "White City" and the slogan "I will" were synonymous with the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition. When the amusement park opened in 1905, the parks' owners utilized the imagery and architecture of the 1893 fair to attract crowds.
