Dennis Duplex Typewriter, 1895-1900

Typewriters were both a contributor to and a consequence of the increasing speedup of work environments around the turn of the century. This Dennis Duplex makes these ideas about speed and efficiency tangible. To speed up the typist's work, the Duplex has two full keyboards, one for each hand, enabling the typist to type two characters at once.
