Clear Vision Sleet Remover, circa 1920

01

Artifact Overview

The Clear Vision Sleet Remover promised to melt sleet and frost from a car's windshield using heat from a candle flame -- an optimistic promise, no doubt. The device was mounted to the inside of the windshield using the suction cup on the front, while the curved reflector in back was intended to direct the candle's heat to the glass.
