These documents, known as Fraktur, usually incorporated intricate lettering, elaborate borders and colorful drawings of birds, flowers, hearts or other stylized figures. This hand-colored Fraktur records the birth and baptism of Abraham Killian from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in 1812.
