Pistol Grip Balling Gun, circa 1935

01

Artifact Overview

Getting people to take a pill is hard enough, and it is even more difficult to make an animal swallow one. This device is used to "shoot" a pill into the esophagus so that the animal will not cough up the pill. A balling gun such as this is used to administer pills to cattle, horses, and sometime sheep.
