Ford Motor Company operated sales and service branches, as well as assembly plants, in cities around the world. The company's Cork, Ireland, plant began operations in 1919. Employees there initially built tractors, but Model T engines and parts were added in 1920. Henry Ford had a personal connection to County Cork -- his father was born there in 1826.
