Artifact Overview

The Chicago Motor Club (CMC) was founded in 1906 by a local group to exchange travel information and promote the automobile and road conditions. It later became a local chapter of the American Automobile Association. This sign would indicate to members that the service station at which it was posted was "officially" approved by the club.
