In the spring of 1997, McDonald's took advantage of the Ty Beanie Babies collecting craze and offered Teenie Beanies in its Happy Meals. The promotion appealed not only to children, but also to adults. Many who had never visited a McDonald's before came and waited in line to order Happy Meals. It is one of the most successful and memorable Happy Meals promotions.
