By the late 19th century, spring-driven, key-wound alarm clocks helped Americans wake up and arrive on time for work, school and appointments. Seth Thomas Clock Company created this stylish clock in the early 1900s. Appropriately named "Long Alarm," the clock could ring for fifteen minutes on one winding.
