"Inventions Throughout the Ages"

John T. McCutcheon (1870-1949) was a Chicago-based political and satirical cartoonist and war correspondent; he worked for several publications, including over forty years at the Chicago Tribune newspaper. McCutcheon illustrated several books for humorist George Ade, won the 1931 Pulitzer Prize for his cartoons about the Great Depression, and earned the nickname the “Dean of American Cartoonists."
