Allis-Chalmers Model 10-18 Tractor, 1914

01

Artifact Overview

Allis-Chalmers introduced its first farm tractor, the Model 10-18, in 1914. The tractor's single-tire front end gave it a tighter turning radius and made it easy to maneuver. It also had power -- 10 horse power at the draw-bar and 18 horse power from the belt pulley. But its price tag put the machine out of the reach of most farmers.
