Sketches and renderings were the starting point for any new model program, as shown by this extraordinary example drawn by Virgil Exner, who headed the styling department at Chrysler Corporation. Exner's astounding career as an automotive designer included leadership positions in Harley Earl's Art and Colour Section at General Motors Corporation, at Raymond Loewy's industrial design firm, and at Chrysler.
