Cal Stewart, a vaudeville comedian known for his "country bumpkin" character Uncle Josh, provided humorous commentary on his rural community and the world outside his village of Pun'kin Center. Stewart's "Uncle Josh" monologues poked fun at rural people -- who also bought and loved his records. The crazy goings-on in the town of Pun'kin Center are spoken of -- and laughed at -- in this record.
