Art Clokey introduced his claymation star, Gumby, on the Howdy Doody show in 1955-56. A year later, Gumby had his own show on NBC. Bendable character toys of this loveable character soon followed. This Gumby playset was produced in the early 1980s -- a period when this flexible little character underwent a revival in popularity.
