Jigsaw puzzles help teach children and entertain families. The earliest puzzles used maps to teach students geography. By the late 19th century, puzzles with colorful prints of animals, famous individuals, or historical or religious events conveyed a variety of lessons. Pious families could piece together this puzzle to learn about the miracles of Christ.
