The presidential election of 2000 between George W. Bush and Al Gore was one of the most contentious in U.S. history. The election hinged on the highly controversial election results in Florida that gave Bush a narrow victory. When Gore contested, Bush supporters produced campaign material mocking Gore and vice presidential candidate, Senator Joseph Lieberman.
