Artifact Overview
Jerome Irving (J.I.) Rodale used his publishing house, Rodale Press, to promote his unconventional theories of organic agriculture. He first published The Organic Method on the Farm in 1949. Rodale is justifiably the father of organic farming in the United States as many of his ideas are now in the mainstream. Organic foods are increasingly sought out by consumers.
