    Advertisement for Ford-Ferguson Tractors, 1942

A universal linkage between tractors and implements was a challenge for farm equipment manufacturers. Ireland's Harry Ferguson spent 18 years developing the hydraulic three-point hitch, called the Ferguson System. Easy to use, lightweight and elegantly simple, it remains the standard implement hitch to the present. This advertisement demonstrates the ease of the system with farmers from age 10 to 90.
