Ford Motor Company built some 308,000 Model T automobiles in 1915. That year, leatherette upholstery was phased in on open cars as a less expensive substitute for real leather. The coupelet, Ford's first convertible coupe model, also debuted for 1915. Touring car prices started at $440, while coupelets were priced starting at $590.
